I realize that most people are probably kind of put off by the word &quot;taxes&quot; but we think its pretty important to know where your money goes. I think South Carolina has taken over the lead for tobacco production from Virginia so thats why they might be getting a bit of a break for smokes.  They are still pretty cheap here though I guess.</description>

		<description>in Michigan we seem to have a fairly average sales tax (6%)...but Florida has the same sales tax and 0% personal income tax, whereas our personal income tax is 4.35%.  Kind of interesting.  Also, we have a pretty high tax on cigarettes at $2 per 20pk carton!  I saw some states as low as 7 cents per pack (South Carolina).  I&#039;m not a smoker so it doesn&#039;t really matter to me, but it&#039;s interesting to compare the differing states!</description>
