Sure we may have referred to this before but I wanted to bring it up again real quick: AVG Free is a fantastic, simple, effective and completely free.  Not only does it protect from viruses, but spyware as well.  Here is a complete list of what is offered, and if you like it, you can pay a few bucks and get even more coverage.  Definitely worth it given most users level of use. Download and check it out!

Why not stop worrying about virus and spyware issues while running faster (my $300 laptop boots and is ready to work in under a minute) by replacing the Microsoft operating system with the free Linux Mint (http://www.linuxmint.com).

I too feel the best antivirus is linux itself.But the only concerning thing is the compatibility.
BTW,Avira Antivirus Personal is free and works really well

Because Linux doesn’t support all software–particularly, in my case, design software. :(

I would use it if I could.

I agree, AVG is great AND FREE! I use it on my comp and so does my hubby.

Another good anti-virus is Avast. It’s free. But the only thing that might bother people (or not?) is that you have to re-register every few months I think. I’m not sure why, but you do. And registering, and re-registering is free too. It’s all free.

I was told it was better than AVG. Just letting you know so you can check into it. :)
